The program supports kindergartens and nursery schools that nurture children’s “scientific mind, keen sensitivity and creativity”. This website provides a variety of case studies, education materials, and research information from nurseries.
By inviting and evaluating educational essays on the theme “foster children with an appreciation for the sciences”, the program supports elementary and junior high schools as well as their teachers who educate students eagerly on the relevant theme.
About 2,000 science-loving teachers from 49 branches nation-wide promote and demonstrate “education that fosters children with an appreciation for the sciences” through training courses and research sessions. The Foundation offers multifaceted support for SSTA’s activities.
The main theme is “learning from the nature.” The children who participate in this program experience the joys of learning through the scientific activities as well as having the opportunity to think about social manners by interacting with teachers and peers in the nature, with Dr. Hideki Shirakawa as the principal teacher.
The Foundation promotes model-making workshops based on scientific theories for students of elementary and middle schools.Instructors are engeneers of Sony Group and teachers of SSTA.
The Foundation and the SSTA promote activities to exchange information and outcome of education researches with overseas science teachers associations.
