Thank you for submitting the essays

For each program of educational essays which deadlines were set on September 3 and 18 respectirely, we have received numerous submissions exceeding the number of last year from all over the country.

  • Sony Science Education Program for Children: 197 schools
  • Preschool Education Program for Children: 90 preschools

Thank you all for submitting them!
We are in the process of evaluating the essays and plan to announce the results in middle of December.
We will also announce the results in this newsletter.

Details for the National Conference posted in the secondary announcement

Details for the National Conference, which will be held at the two Full Awardment Project Schools from the previous year, have been posted.

Excellent practices at Eimei Elementary School of Chino City, Nagano Prefecture, and Izumiya Junior High School of Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture, a poster session by the faculty of these winning schools,
and memorial talks are to be held.

Sony Preschool Education Program for Children

Project Report Presentation meeting held

Children who wanted to help strengthen the trees of the forest in order to help it grow learned about making charcoal.
So on September 1st at Aizu-Wakaba Kindergarten of Fukushima Prefecture, where there has been ongoing coal-making activities, there was an Project Report Presentation meeting. To be continued.

Activity Proposal Workshop held

On September 11th, 2007, in a cool autumn forest, an Activity Proposal Workshop for "Open-air nursing, Children of the Forest,"(Nagano Prefecture) was conducted. We walked over an hour in the second part of the open nursing demonstration. To be continued.

A five year-old child grew Green soybeans, but it turned yellow after summer vacation was over.
What to do? I got an idea!

No.13 "Bugs"

A five year-old won't touch bugs, even though he likes them. He started by using the easy catcher for bug "Benri Mushitori" he made with his care-taker, and as he started having fun, he could start touching bugs with his bare hands.
So happy, he gave one to the younger class, but the next day.!?
