National Report Presentation Meeting held at Matsugae-Kita Elementary School (Fukuoka prefecture)!
On Friday, October 13th, the National Report Presentation Meeting was held at Matsugae-Kita Elementary School in Kita-Kyushu city, which was chosen to be the Full Awardment Project School of 2005. The event was a great success with more than 400 teachers participating.
In the morning, all classes of all 6 grades held a 2-period open class, a period given to science (or life environment studies) and Japanese each. The theme of the classes was "Education at Matsugae-Kita, learning from each other - See, touch, write, and discuss. Correlation between science/life environment studies and Japanese language-"
The auditors were able to understand Matsugae-Kita Elementary School's proposition through observing the actual lesson.
In the afternoon, the poster exhibition of the 19 selected schools of 2006, and a discussion forum with the teachers of the host school and other schools from all over the country was be held. In the forum, various case examples and propositions were presented with the theme "Foster children with an appreciation for the sciences".
As a finale of the convention, a memorial lecture was held by Mr.Yasushi Mitarai, the jury president of the program and also the chairperson of the University of the Air Foundation (former Parliamentary Secretary of Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology). The subject of the lecture was "Educational Reform and the Fundamental Law of Education", on which he spoke of very specifically, based on his own experience.

SSTA Board of Trustees Meeting (Meeting of the block directors) held
Block directors from all over the country participated in the SSTA Board of Trustees Meeting held on Thursday, October 12th, the day before the National Report Presentation Meeting. In addition to deciding where Young Teacher Training Workshops will be held next year and after, and the blocks that are to hold the training course in blocks, active exchange of opinions and discussions concerning the vitalization of the branches took place.

Applied Preschool Research Workshop held
October 21st, Saturday, Shimasaka Nursery, Midorigaoka Nursery, Okazaki City (Aichi Prefecture)
A combined Applied Preschool Research Workshop was held with 270 participants attending. (We will list a detailed report on a later date)

A Project Report Presentation was held at Hokuryou Kindergarten (Shimane Prefecture) on October 28th (sat).
